5 Months To 40… OUCH!
I woke up around 4:30 this morning, November 8, 2009, and went through my developing routine of preparing myself for the day ahead, which is a routine I learned from Eben Pagan’s “Wake Up Productive” program (powerful!), when it suddenly hit me…
“In exactly 5 months from today… on April 8, 2010… I will be 40 years old… FORRRR-TYYY FREAKIN’ YEARS OLD!!” ~ Andy Hussong (aka… “The Geezer”)
After a slight twinge of depression and wondering how in the world I seemingly jumped straight from being a carefree teenager without a worry – or responsibility – in the world, to being a husband, father of 4 boys, and business owner about to advance into middle age (does 40 qualify as middle age? Man, I hope not)… I *immediately* decided that NOW is the time to get serious about EVERYTHING in my life.
Health, Relationships, Spiritual, Mental, Finances… you name it!
By the way, here’s me from about age 3 to *almost* 40 (with my family… I’m on far right) in a flash. Everything in between is just a blur…
I’m seriously committed to improving every aspect of my life over the next 5 months, because instead of dreading age 40 like it’s the darkest day in my life up to this point (please… like that could be as bad as losing a loved one, or something like that), I thought…
Why not make it into one of the BEST days of my life by being able to reflect on my previous years as being instrumental in making me the person I am today, and feel good about being in the best mental/relationship/spiritual/financial states of my life… right?!
So maybe you’re asking… “So what’s this got to do with me?”
You may not be reaching some age benchmark in your own life, or maybe you’ve already surpassed enough of these milestones to where you’ve long since given up on worrying about such craziness… but what I want you to take from my 5 month quest to become the best that I can be is this…
Set a deadline for maximizing the effectiveness of your affiliate program & JV relationships!
If you’re like most people I talk to, who have an affiliate program or who are trying to get JV partners, you have been MEANING to tighten up your affiliate program for some time, but you never seem to get around to it.
Kinda like how I’ve wanted to get more serious about my fitness, or how some people want to lose weight, but continue to shove Twinkies in their grill… it isn’t until you make a COMMITMENT and set specific deadlines that you get excited enough about your goals that you take serious action.
Regarding your affiliate program, instead of waiting until Jan 1, for example, to create a New Year’s resolution that you’re going to finally ramp up your affiliate efforts, gain some momentum going into the new year by doing this…
1) Set a deadline that on Dec. 1, you are going to start tweaking your current affiliate program strategy.
2) Set a deadline of when you want that strategy completed… maybe Feb 1, 2010 (2 months)… or whatever works for you.
3) Take 30 minutes to list all of the things you need to tweak (the “#1 Critical JV Strategy” gives you that list, but tie it into YOUR particular setup).
4) Between now and Dec 1, decide what changes you want/need to make.
5) On Dec 1 (or sooner)… TAKE ACTION!
Just as I plan to look back on things when I turn 40, you could be looking back on your previous affiliate efforts feeling proud that you made the commitment and sacrifices necessary to maximize your affiliate program and JV relationships.

You may have noticed that I haven’t posted much content, lately, and I apologize for that.
The truth is that things are moving really fast for me, in that I’ve been bombarded with people requesting personal assistance with their affiliate programs, getting JV partners, etc., and the last thing I want to do is let those people down.

I just turned 33 and last week had my first baby… a boy! I needed that reminder that life is but a vapor (James 4:14).
I have begun to make a list of all the improvements that I would like to make for Carrie’s affiliate program with some deadlines.
I also look forward to your consultation. You have so much wisdom and REAL time experience.
