What a year!
As I look back on the past year, I know things have been an absolute whirlwind for me…
* My son, Kaden’s seizure testing (more on that below)
* Coached 3 baseball teams for 3 of my sons
* Attended more IM events than usual
* Made TONS of new friends/connections in various niches
* Worked on various launches
* Figured out a way to leverage Facebook like never before
* Became sort of the “webinar JV guy” for hooking up webinar deals
* My oldest boy, Korbin, joined the US Army (like I did)
* My 18 year old, Kurtis, got a baseball scholarship to a Jr. college
* I got lazy about working out and eating habits… LOL (changing that)
* A continued great relationship with my wife, boys, parents, brother, and friends.
… and I’m sure you’re looking back right now on all the good and bad that’s happened to you over the past year.
I want you to know that I appreciate you, and for hanging with me in between long stretches of no email/blog updates from me, while I’ve been going in a million directions, it seems, this year.
I’ve got an entire list of stuff I’m going to be sharing with you that’s going to help you knock it out of the park with attracting and motivating affiliates and joint venture partners in 2012, but for now, I have something more important to share with you that will help all of us keep things in proper perspective as we enter the New Year…
My Son Does NOT Have Cancer… but…
By now, you’re probably aware of the battle my son has fought with seizures for 7 1/2 of the 8 1/2 years of his life (you can check out my previous blog post about it here).
Not sure if you’re getting sick of hearing about it, or not, but I thought I’d update you on the phone call we got from one of the doctors who evaluated him in Cleveland last month…
… as well as to introduce you to a little 4 year-old girl who’s battling something WAY worse than what Kaden is.
We found out that Kaden’s seizures are a result of some sort of birth defect in his brain, and what the medical team is recommending we do is to consider the surgical removal of that “diseased” portion of his brain… which consists of a large portion of his right frontal lobe.
Obviously, we have some decisions to make, but we’ve been reassured that the great thing about this is that it’s located away from any areas that could potentially cause any type of delay in speech or motor skills.
Apparently… even though they’d remove a large portion of his right frontal lobe, it can be done with no long term, negative affects, and in fact, may even result in an increase in the ability to focus, which is something he’s struggled with, and which is common with those who have this condition.
While this is all somewhat scary for us as parents, our faith is what will carry Kaden and the rest of us through this, and we’re confident that we’ll make the right decision.
Now, you may recall my story about how we are able to keep things in perspective after seeing numerous young cancer patients during our time at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis over the years.
We realize how fortunate Kaden is to “just” have seizures, believe me, which brings me to this…
Meet 4 year-old, Sophie…
Back in November, I attended the Internet Marketing Party in San Diego, put on by my good friends David Gonzalez and Jonathan Herbert, and while there, I met an amazing guy by the name of Ted Ehr, who was there simply to drum up some support amongst our Internet marketing community for his little girl.
Turns out his little 4 year-old daughter, Sophie, is battling cancer. In fact, as you can read here, “while most of us will be spending the holidays with family and friends traveling or at home, Sophie [spent] her Christmas in a Boston hospital, preparing to go through a grueling operation and subsequent nasty series of chemotherapy treatments – a situation you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.”
Here’s a picture of young Sophie…

I can only imagine the heartache felt when receiving the news that one of your “little ones” has such a crippling, and life-threatening disease.
But wait… there could be light at the end of the tunnel…
A “Happier” New Year for Sophie…
There is some hope for Sophie.
Something amazing is happening… Nearly every major Internet marketer has banded together and are willing to give you over $10,000 in software, products, courses & services just for helping a small child in need.
I’ve joined forces with them & you’ve got to check this out:
http://www.marketersforacause.org/sophie
We need your help spreading the word about this. Go there now & find out about the upcoming day-long live “web telethon” being hosted by Bill McIntosh with a guest list that reads like the virtual who’s who in the online marketing world.
(BTW… Bill’s a GREAT friend of mine and past client who sincerely cares about people – especially kids – like you wouldn’t believe!)
When you participate you’ll even get a chance to grab some of the best Internet marketing training on the planet.
In fact… I’ll be contributing some top notch “JV attraction” content of my own to help contribute to this worthy cause.
What a great concept! Help a little girl in need & get some high-quality products designed to help you build your Internet business at the same time. Everyone wins!
I look forward to seeing you over there:

So thanks a TON for taking the time as you head into the New Year to read about my son, and more importantly, for considering helping little Sophie during this most difficult time in her life.
Warmly,
Andy Hussong
Fighting for Sophie’s Life
P.S. Every penny of revenue generated from the “Sophie Project” goes straight to the family of a 4 year old girl with bone cancer. It will provide support and give her the strongest fighting chance of beating this terrible disease. Do everything you can to be part of this:

P.S.S. What are YOU thankful for as you look back on 2011, and head into 2012? Remember to take time out this weekend to have fun, spend time with those you care about the most, and be sure to hug your loved ones with all you got!
